Lasting Impression: Help Buyers Feel Like It's Home

Why would you go through the time, trouble and expense to try to impress the Buyers of your home?  Here are a few ways you can leave a positive Lasting Impression with your Buyers.  Since they are mostly free, readily available and easy to implement, why not?  It never hurts to leave a good Lasting Impression.  One never knows when you might cross paths again with your Buyers or friends or relatives of your Buyers.

  • Service Providers:  Type up a quick list of the Service Providers you have used while in your home or leave their business cards.  This should include the names and telephone numbers of all utility companies.  Include plumbers, contractors and window cleaners, painters, etc.  Think how happy you would be to find such supplies when you arrive at your new destination.
  • Basic Supplies:  Leave such basic supplies as a roll of toilet paper, paper towels, plastic cups, and detergent.  They don't have to be large containers or even containers that are only partially full.  The idea is to leave enough for someone moving in who may take a day or two to unpack such necessities.
  • Community Telephone List:  Most subdivisions in the Myrtle Beach area supply a resident telephone list of all the residents in that community.  Leave it behind so that your Buyer can get to know his/her neighbors.
  • Directory of Area Restaurants/Activities:  When you know you are going to sell your home, put aside such magazines as Dining Out or Kicks from the local paper.  These will help direct the Buyers to local attractions.
  • Telephone Books:  Leave behind such items as Telephone Directories. 

With the few items you are leaving for the Buyers of your home, put a little note that explains that you though these items would come in handy when they are starting a new life in your old community. 

With a little bit of time, you can help your Buyers begin a great life in your previous home and create a positive Lasting Impression.  You'd be surprised at how one good deed can come back to you ten-fold.
