“Where to Retire” magazine each month includes ads for Lakeside Crossing.  This Retirement Community on the border of Myrtle Beach and Conway, is a housing  community on Leased Land.  The homes are manufactured homes (like “modular” homes up north).  There are still some lots available.  The homes were first built around 2005.  The development is beautifully landscaped and has a state-of-the-art spa and community center.  There are palm trees at the grand entrance to welcome you to the community.  There are two entrances.

Within the community, there are several styles of homes. Driving through one sees a neat, sparkling community. 

There are several factors that appeal to buyers.  First, it is a community for seniors.  (Read my Blog on the "Why Choose a Retirement Community".  The prices of homes are cheaper because the homes are on leased land. Although the POAs are $360 per month, that’s a small price to pay when the homes are currently selling at under $100K and up.  Why pay more? 

The state-of-the-art athletic center and clubhouse with heated indoor pool is what really sells the development.  It's a lifestyle one is buying into.  On-site is both a Massage Therapist and Social Activity Director.  There are always activities scheduled to keep you busy. There is a ballroom for dancing and a library for some quiet time.  You can swim, fish and paddleboat.  There are even tennis courts and shuffleboard available.  Even I have heard of the Pub gatherings where prices are very affordable.  It's a fun place to be.

Retirement Living in an Active Adult Community is not for everyone.  When looking for a Home for Sale, for your safety, always check the community covenants before putting in an offer.  As I said, you are buying into a Lifestyle.  Make sure it's the lifestyle that is right for you.
