Want to move to the beach but can't afford the high prices, consider the community of Live Oaks.  These manufactured homes are around $100K.  The HOA is $60 per month and the clubhouse has lots to offer.  There is a large tennis court and a beautiful pool.  The clubhouse is the hub of activity for all.  There are weekly games one can join.  The best feature of the community is the comraderie.  It is crucial, especially for seniors, to have a strong support system.  When I recently listed one of the homes for sale, a neighbor questioned me to ensure I had permission to be on the property since the resident was no longer in the home.  The homes and common grounds are well-maintained.  There...

LOCATION! LOCATION! LOCATION!

That's the name of the game in real estate.  The closer you are to the beach, the more expensive the home.  Two great communities that are a bit different are Antigua and Providence Park.  These two communities are located off 82nd Parkway just one-block west of 17 Business in Myrtle Beach, SC.  The Grande Dunes developed just north and west of these communities, making them even more desirable.  In addition, they are next to Grand Strand Medical Center giving residents state-of-the-art medical treatment.

What makes Antigua and Providence Park different from most communities are the backyards.  They are completely private with no windows of adjoining homes ...

Hurricane Irene just swept through the Grand Strand.  It's time like these that I appreciate living in a retirment community.  The support of neighbors can certainly be a blessing.

Before the storm struck, there was a meeting held in the community which included details residents should know about how to prepare for the coming storm.  A check-list was given so that everyone could prepare properly.  The main focus of the meeting, however, was to ask for residents who might need help moving items out of the storm's path.   Lawn ornaments, BBQs, patio furniture, plants, garbage cans, etc. needed to be moved indoors.  Between vacation trips, illness and aches and pains can make it difficult ...

Wynbrooke Townhomes Murrells Inlet SCOne of the nicer townhomes along the Grand Strand is Wynbrooke Townhomes.  These townhomes are located off Hwy 707 across from Prince Creek Golf Course.  These townhomes are two- and three-bedroom units that may or may not include a garage.  There are several different floorplans.  Some of the units have en-suites, meaning there is a bathroom attached to the bedroom, while others have two bedrooms that share one bathroom.  Some of the floorplans have an extra half-bath on the main level.  Within the community there is a gorgeous pool for residents, an easy walk from most of the townhomes. Wynbrooke Porch Murrells Inlet SC

Some buyers may question what the difference is between a townhome and a condo.  Although most town...

I don't know where this email originated; however, I thought there were some good points made for everyone.  Take heed!

THIRTEEN THINGS YOUR BURGLAR WON'T TELL YOU

1. Of course I look familiar. I was here just last week cleaning your carpets, painting your shutters, or delivering your new refrigerator.

2. Hey, thanks for letting me use the bathroom when I was working in your yard last week. While I was in there, I unlatched the back window to make my return a little easier.

3. Love those flowers. That tells me you have taste... and taste means there are nice things inside. Those yard toys your kids leave out always make me wonder what type of gaming system they have.

4. Yes, I really do l...
